.

The past week has been freakin' hectic. My main computer decided to die on me, causing me to lose 90% of my files(thank god for automatic backups) This happened on the day my new cintiq arrived too ;_;
With my new computer coming in soon, hopefully I will be able to move all of my files over there and get everything set up again so I can work >.<
Even though I managed to fix my 'dead' computer, I still bought a new computer since it was time to update, and the other one wasn't able to keep up with some tasks too well.(I'm lookin at you, Blender ಠ_ಠ)

My new computer is coming with win10 pre-installed, and with the things I've heard about lack of privacy in win 10, linux is looking quite appealing right now.

.

It's been quite some time since I've posted something on this blog. Mainly due to the fact that I really have nothing to say to put on this blog(and I keep forgetting that I have a blog) >.>

A lot of stuff has happened since I last posted, but now I have a lot of free time to work on what I please, though that is going to change soon again, since I'm planning to go to college in Germany

I really really want to finish Pwer Shift by the end of this year. It's been far too long with too little progress on the story ;_;

I also want to finish "A Blue Rose, A Red Scythe", another story that takes place in the same 'universe' as pwer shift.

hopefully my next post wont be years in the future >..<"

My Process of writing "Pwer shift"

Since I haven't been updating "Pwer Shift!" in a while, I thought I'd give you peeps a little insight on my process of writing and updating my script, from beginning to end.

Daydream 'til the end of time

I daydream, a lot; and when I say a lot, I mean so much so that I could be doing the most complex of tasks and still find the brain power to go on 'autopilot' and daydream. It's usually until I speak to a person, or actually begin writing that I'm finally snapped back to reality.
It's this ostentatious amount of daydreaming (and a little bit of real dreaming...) that I initially come up with ideas for "Pwer Shift!". After I have the basic idea for a chapter or scene I replay the scenario over and over and over and et cetera, changing it ever so slightly each time until I have want I want.
This is probably the most time consuming part of the entire process, as I can daydream about a certain scenario for many months before I actually write it down.

Never enough Notebooks

This is where the long and strenuous writing process begins. I take out one of my many notebooks dedicated to "Pwer Shift!" and being writing the rough outline for the chapter until its finished, which usually doesn't take too long, just blotting down random ideas/ transitions here and there until I have a rough, messy skeleton of a chapter. After that, I go into another notebook (2 actually, on of them is already filled, but I'm currently not far along writing the story to go into the second notebook) and write down the outline for the chapter, being sure to include all the major events that are set to happen within the chapter. It's more detailed than the random page or two of ideas that are within the first notebook, so I have to come up with more stuff to fill the gaps, which, once again, shouldn't take that much time to do. All too frequently, however, this is one of the stages where I can get stuck for weeks at a time, unsure of how to continue. At this point I usually set it aside for a while and pick it up later. If I still find myself stuck after picking it up again, I give it to one of my friends to read. During the time that they're reading it, I strangely can come up with ideas as to how to continue. Not only that, but I get an outside perspective, and change anything if necessary. Once I've finished the chapter outline, I go back to the first notebooks that has all the ideas in it and write a slightly more detailed form of an outline, but more organised into a story format, minus a lot of detail.
Finally, once all that is finished, I open up Youtube, search "epic music" and randomly click one of the first results, open a third notebook, slip on my headphones, and get to writing the chapter in full. I can usually do about 1-2 pages a day if it's a good day, but alas, this is another point where I can get stuck for weeks... This is the part where a lot of detail that was missing before gets added in; though I have to admit, I do just pull a bunch of stuff out of nowhere during this phase. Usually within about a month (because I write as slow as fuck) the chapter is finished. Once that is finished, I usually type it up in Microsoft Word, doing minor edits to the chapter as I type it, and copy+paste it into the empty spaces in my script,  making adjustments if needed before updating the file on Mediafire.

Editing   :(

So, in truth, I've been kind of (VERY) lazy on editing, with the first chapter being the only chapter with major edits and revisions(5-6) applied to it, with the rest being what I believe to be a sub-par level of writing. How do I edit my chapters? I simply sit there with a printed version of my story holding a red pen and staring blankly at the paper, occasionally adding details or revising parts, but mostly blank staring and daydreaming. I've found the process so cumbersome and boring that I've pretty much neglected the entire editing process until recently, so expect the next update to have everything revised and hopefully polished.
It will come when it comes out (hopefully not months from now...)

Edit: Just so you people know, I've pretty much finished the most recent chapter, all I have to do is edit chapters/days 2-7

New year, same old, same old.

Hope everyone has had a happy new year, mine was quite boring to say the least...
I usually don't come up with resolutions to follow, but what the hell, why not this year? Other than that, I don't plan to do anything out of the ordinary, excluding 'Pwer Shift!'. Should have the script updated soon (Hopefully).

I guess it's nice to say that there are only three major obstacles standing in my way before I can begin working on "Pwer Shift: The animation": Copyrights, Business stuff, and finally finishing the story to an acceptable degree! Of course I still need voice actors, musicians and Foley artists, but two of the three I can do myself with a bit of practice and some elbow grease. I always could use people to help, so if you wish to, feel free to send me a message.

Why is "Pwer Shift!" taking so long?

"It's been two years already and you have ONLY seven days of the script released!? And where's the animation at? What's taking you so looong?"

Calm down you, jeez. I haven't just been twiddling my thumbs these past couple of years.

So, 'Pwer shift!'s script, animation artwork and basically anything else I have announced is taking a long time due to one reason: studying.
Lots and lots of extensive studying. And I'm not even talking about studying for school.

One of the reasons I was able to come up with "Pwer Shift!" in the first place is because I've always had so~ much spare time after school(Well, that and because of a certain life event that nobody shall ever mention or bring up ever again...EVER AGAIN) ; and I spent that time mostly watching anime, just playing minecraft, or watching youtube, and just lying in my bed, thinking for hours upon end, gradually weaving together the story that would become "Pwer Shift!"

Before I knew it, "Pwer Shift!" kept growing and growing so much so that I couldn't stop building and building upon this epic project so spontaneously whisked up by an imaginative 15 year old. One day, I just took a step back and looked at the big picture of the monster of a story I had created and thought,"There's no way I'm going to be able to do this as I am now, no matter how good I think I am..."
This is where the studying begins.
Animation, sound design, story writing, psychology, art; I had no idea what most of these things were, and if I did, I have no way of knowing how or where to start. I had absolutely NO skills in these various areas both listed and not listed to make "Pwer Shift!" work.Since this realization a few years back, I saved up my money, bought a few programs, and began to search the internet or what ever book I could get my hands on and study what I thought I needed in order to make my story reality. To be honest, I might have learned more whilst studying for the sake of "Pwer Shift!" than I have in school.

Fast-forward to today; I'm 18 now and still trying to dedicate much of my time to "Pwer Shift!", trying to study to make it reality. However, I can do 90% of the things needed to bring my grand vision of "Pwer Shift!" to fruition but, unfortunetly,  "Pwer Shift!" has grown once again when I took my sights off of it for just a mere moment, and now I must increase my range of study to compensate for the growth. With my being 18, and soon having to face the 'reality of being thrust into the "real world"' whether I like it or not, and already deciding to have "Pwer Shift!" animated soon after its conception brought me to a realization that I want to do things like "Pwer Shift!" for the rest of my life, and I'm going to try my damnedest to form an animation business so  I can keep doing these things. And if I fall down and hit my face, nothing to do but to get back up and try again.
It's funny how this all started from a Minecraft mod and it's humble script beginnings as
"You come across a creeper girl lying upon the ground, her clothes ripped and caked in blood.
She looks to be near death.
Her wounds are too severe to say what had caused them. The only thing you know for sure is that she will die soon if you do not help her."
(Yes, that is an excerpt from the first version of the script for the first mob talker...)

And so, the sands of time keep moving, slowly revealing the things that are to come.

Welp, that's all I have to say for my first blog post. I hope this informs people as to why it's taking so long.
